The truth about Israel
... and why Christians should care



Israel is in grave danger of imminent destruction from an enemy so pernicious and devious that even the Israeli people do not seem to know who it is. This column ought to have been written a long time ago; recent developments compel it to be written and updated constantly.

In March 2002, the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution calling for a Palestinian state. To the astonishment of informed people, the United States and Israel both supported the idea. So are Israel's leaders bent on self-destruction? Furthermore, the UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, told Israel to end what he called their "illegal occupation" of Palestinian territory. Of course, as informed people also know, the only illegalities involved are Mr. Annan's grubby little organization, which is trying to play the role of a world government, and his ability to tell such whoppers with the authority of a world policy-maker.

Is it conceivably possible that the UN Secretary-General, the entire leadership of the Western World, the BBC, the US mainstream media, the Presbyterian and Episcopal church leaderships and many other pastors are as uninformed about the Middle East as they are pretending to be?

Or are they deliberately feigning ignorance so as not to disrupt the tranquil but steady slide into falsehood, currently in progress as part of the New World Order? Why else would they distort the facts and lie to the public, who know no better? The unfolding dominance of the ruling power elite over the past 50 years, and the evidence of recent events suggest that all these possibilities are true.

To anyone not totally mesmerized by the media's wall of lies and propaganda, there is a logic gap which at first prods the brain into refusing to accept what is presented. But somehow the facts seem to disappear from view if they are sufficiently massaged.

First, who is Israel's enemy? The Palestinians? Well, partly, even though there are no such people. The term was reinvented for modern use in the 1970s when the Russians, seeking greater influence and arms sales in the Middle East, successfully blackmailed a homosexual Egyptian businessman, Rahman al-Qadwa, into serving their purposes there. They gave him the fictional name of Yasser Arafat and dreamed up a demonic cause: to disrupt God's promise to give Israel to the Jewish people. Indeed, much of what is now going on in the Middle East is not an attempt to gain a "Palestinian homeland" alongside Israel, but an attempt to totally destroy Israel itself.

Israel is God's promised land. It is not "Palestine". It is, and always will be Israel. If merely a "Palestinian homeland" were needed, a wide variety of alternative locations presents itself elsewhere in the Arab world:



1. The Bible speaks of Philistines coming from the south. Indeed, Philystia, their original homeland, is the Gaza Strip, which is now under "Palestinian" control. But that does not appear to satisfy them. The northern part of Saudi Arabia is not in use. It would offer them more than double their current land area and a good amount of ocean access.

2. Egypt and Libya have plenty of unused land, some of it along the coastline.

3. If the Saudis are feeling more generous towards their cousins, there is much more land which could be used to house these so-called "Palestinians".

4. Best of all, the proper place for a "Palestinian" homeland is Jordan, which is 82.5% of Palestine, but that may be thought to be too close to Israel, and the US may prefer not to disrupt a close ally.


When Winston Churchill and his successor, Clement Atlee, negotiated an end to the British mandate in Palestine after the Second World War, it was clearly understood that the area was to be divided into two nation states.

With the impeccable sense of bias and lack of fairness of which the British Foreign Office are the world's supreme masters, it was arranged for 82.5% of Palestine to be given to create a new Arab state, Jordan, while the Jewish people were to be given the other 17.5%, the land west of the River Jordan, and even that is only a tiny percentage of the area of land that God had promised the Jewish people thousands of years earlier.

It is this plan that is now in danger of collapse amid the constant barrage of lies and an uninformed public worldwide. The superficial reason for the sycophancy of the Western powers towards the Arabs is oil. There's no real surprise here; the oil company moguls and their pals also own a vast chunk of the US media and arms industry too. For the past century, they have controlled much of what happens at the White House, and use their strong alliance with the British Royal Family to exert their power through the CFR's sister organization in London, the Royal Institute for International Affairs.

When John D Rockefeller II and his cronies conceived and established these organizations in 1919, they envisaged a new world order dominated by Anglo-American business interests. When such immense business interests - especially oil - lie at the core of the New World Order's revenue production stream, it is little wonder that the Arabs must be retained as firm friends and their wishes obeyed. In any case, it has been amply demonstrated over the centuries that the Jewish people have few friends when they are truly in need.

At this point, permit me to exonerate President George W Bush. I believe him to be a decent man, who is doing his best to provide leadership and a Christian witness and to conduct himself honorably in a situation in which his room to maneuver is very limited by the Council on Foreign Relations, by the Elite in general, and not least, by his father and his father's friends and cronies in the Arab-friendly oil industry and elsewhere, who are breathing down his neck. But, to be totally honest, President Bush was aware of those constraints before he took office.

Dr. Carroll Quigley, Bill Clinton's Georgetown University mentor, wrote: "The Council on Foreign Relations ... believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one-world rule established." And there are no boundaries in the world higher on their priority list for obliteration than those of Israel.

The CFR membership list includes all the key players: current Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres, who was also, by the way, the business partner of Yasser Arafat and of the bin Laden family - they jointly owned Paltel, the Palestinian telephone company, high profile US officials like Vice-President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, and most of the propagandists in the US media. These are Israel's true enemies, and they pose a danger greater than any they have ever faced, partly because within the ranks of the enemies are Israel's very own leaders, whichever party is in government.

Some people say they want to visit "Palestine" to see for themselves. Well if so, such people will need more than an airplane: they would need a time machine.

God promised the Land to Israel, and therefore, God will honor His promise. However, there is room for God's wrath at secular elements in Israeli society who routinely perform abortions, allow prostitution and drug abuse. And that may be why Israel is struggling so hard to get its biblical viewpoint accepted in international circles.

Nonetheless, Christians must expect God to honor His promise, and be obedient to His word. As the Scripture says, "Those who honor me, I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained." (1 Samuel 2:30) And above all, we must resist using the terminology of cultural Marxism.

To clear away some other confusion, the West Bank and Gaza Strip are often called "the occupied territories." If they are occupied, they must belong to someone. So whose territory are they? The Palestinians? No, they have never had territory. Jordan? No, Jordan has renounced any claim to the land. In reality, the only claim on Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) is by Israel, and their right to claim the land comes from God Himself!

Prior to the 1967 Arab-Israeli Six-Day War, when the territories were indeed occupied (by Jordan), there was no serious effort to create a Palestinian homeland. Only two countries on the planet recognized that occupation: Pakistan and Britain.

WorldNet Daily's Joseph Farah writes: [In that war], "Israel captured Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem. But they didn't capture these territories from Yasser Arafat. They captured them from Jordan's King Hussein. The truth is that Palestine is no more real than Never-Never Land. The first time the name was used was in 70 AD when the Romans committed genocide against the Jews, smashed the Temple and declared the land of Israel would be no more. From then on, the Romans promised, it would be known as Palestine. The name was derived from the Philistines, a Goliathian people conquered by the Jews centuries earlier. There is no language known as Palestinian. There is no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc. Keep in mind that the Arabs control 99.9 percent of the Middle East lands. Israel represents one-tenth of 1 percent of the land mass."

So who is occupying whose land? The myth propagated by the mainstream media/CFR/US and UK governments is that Israel is occupying the Palestinians' land, when the truth is precisely the opposite. I have nothing against those Arabs who falsely call themselves Palestinians. They just need to leave Israel and return to their countries of origin.

In this upside-down fantasy myth, Jewish villages are called settlements, presumably in order to infer that they are not permanent, and Arab settlements, often no more than a collection of Bedouin tents, are called villages and towns, to suggest permanency and that the land is really theirs.

Senator James Inhofe discussed Israel in the US Senate on March 4, 2002 and told of a visit by Mark Twain to Palestine in 1867. Mark Twain described it thus: "A desolate country whose soil is rich enough but is given over wholly to weeds. A silent, mournful expanse. We never saw a human being on the whole route. There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country."

So where was the Palestinian nation? It did not exist because it has never existed! If you doubt it, name the Palestinian leader before Yasser Arafat. Before you burst a blood vessel trying, the answer is that there wasn't one, because Arafat invented the word.

Until 1917, when the British took temporary control, Palestine was a region named by the Romans, under the control of Turkey, and there were few people there because the land could not support them.

On November 2, 1917, the British Foreign Secretary wrote to Lord Rothschild, issuing the famous Balfour Declaration:

November 2nd, 1917

Dear Lord Rothschild,

I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of His Majesty's Government, the following declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, the Cabinet.

"His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country."

I should be grateful if you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation.

Please note carefully that the words "political status" were used only in the second half of the sentence, not the first. The existing Arab population west of the Jordan have had full civil and religious rights. They are known as Israeli Arabs, vote in Israeli elections and have representation in the Israeli Knesset. They live peacefully in Israel.

By contradistinction, the so-called West Bank "Palestinians" are actually Jordanians who refused to cross into their designated 82% of the former "Palestine territory" and are now using that word to try to supplant Israel and to create a third state in the area, something which God will not permit to happen.

These so-called Palestinians are now being used as pawns to disrupt and eliminate Israel. They should be repatriated immediately and this sorry chapter closed.

I am also greatly indebted to Mr. Farah for his excellent research into the teachings of the Koran which "says nothing about Jerusalem. It mentions Mecca hundreds of times. It mentions Medina countless times. It never mentions Jerusalem. With good reason. There is no historical evidence to suggest Mohammed ever visited Jerusalem.

Now, how did Jerusalem become the third holiest site of Islam? This is another piece of fiction, which needs to be repudiated.

Muslims today cite a vague passage in the Koran, the seventeenth Sura, entitled "The Night Journey." It relates that in a dream or a vision Mohammed was carried by night "from the sacred temple to the temple that is most remote, whose precinct we have blessed, that we might show him our signs. ..." In the seventh century, some Muslims identified the two temples mentioned in this verse as being in Mecca and Jerusalem. And that's as close as Islam's connection with Jerusalem gets - myth, fantasy, wishful thinking. Meanwhile, Jews can trace their roots in Jerusalem back to the days of Abraham."

In reality, it doesn't matter what the UN, the media, the Jew-haters or anyone else has to say. We should care only about what God says, and if He says that Israel is His land, then it is so. God also said that, notwithstanding the less-than-perfect behavior of the Jewish people from time to time, it is still His land and they are still His people. That's the doctrine of forgiveness in action.

President Bush is too intelligent to believe that Islam is a religion of peace. Buddhism and Taoism might be religions of peace, but Islam, in its present stage of development, is not. It's time for the President to do some plain, truthful speaking and to act loyally towards Israel, America's only true ally in the Middle East. Yet, politics aside, the simple truth is this: Israel should have dominion over all the land west of the River Jordan. Why? Because God said so. That should be a good enough argument for anyone.

As Senator Inhofe also said in the US Senate on March 4, 2002: "This is not a political battle at all. It is a contest over whether or not the word of God is true." (The entire statement is here)

There are dozens of scriptures to confirm the promise. For the sake of brevity, here are just a few:

The borders of Canaan reached from Sidon as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim. (Genesis 10:19)

People from the foothills will possess the land of the Philistines. They will occupy the fields of Ephraim and Samaria, and Benjamin will possess Gilead. (Obadiah 1:19)

You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey. (Leviticus 20:24)

Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess. (Numbers 33:53)

You will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess. (Deuteronomy 32:47)

So why should Christians care what happens to Israel? Because God cares? Yes, absolutely. Because telling the truth will mean an end to the concept of moral equivalence, under which terrorists are called militants and Bible-believing Jews and Christians are called right-wing extremists? Well, yes. But I believe there's a much more important reason.

It is because the second part of God's plan for the Jewish people cannot begin to unfold until the first part is completed. The word "Jew" or "Yehuda" in Hebrew means "those who praise God". As the Jewish people praise God for delivering them from their enemies, that is the moment, I believe, when more and more Jewish people will awaken from their spiritual slumber, and will recognize their Messiah. "I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob." (Romans 11:25-26)

It is clear that exchanging land for peace results only in losing both. Chamberlain tried it with Hitler. The Israelis have tried it recently. Appeasing terrorists never works. That includes President Bush's so-called road map for peace. There is a road, but it does not lead to peace.

President Bush's three state solution for the Middle East exists merely to pacify the fictional Palestinians: a Palestinian state in Jordan (which already exists), a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria (which must never exist), and a Palestinian state inside Israel's pre-1967 borders (which will exist if the evil New World Order men get their way). So where would the NWO put the Israelis? Exactly the same place as Adolf Hitler put the Jewish people, while promising he would be satisfied with the Sudetenland.

For those who doubt God's promises to the Jewish people, let me share a few more illustrative scriptures. Britain may not have been promised to the British, nor Norway to the Norwegians, nor any other location on earth promised to any other people, but there is one single exception: God did promise Israel to the Jews:

All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. (Genesis 13:15)

I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever. (Exodus 32:13)

The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever. (Joshua 14:9)

They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever. (Ezekiel 37:25)

I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them," says the Lord your God. (Amos 9:15)

The word "forever" is a translation of the Hebrew word "Olam", meaning "the infinite", "for all time" or "forever and ever". It is impossible to be a believing Christian and not accept the Bible's authority and veracity.

The Bible speaks for itself without need of complex interpretation or commentary. Maybe it's time for real Christians to stop wasting their time on peripheral issues, and instead offer President Bush and other people of influence the hand of informed Christian teaching and fellowship so they will use their positions and influence to choose the truth of God's word over the falsehoods of terrorists, politicians and media alike.

Christians do not have the luxury of being on the wrong side here. We must take courage! Stand up for Israel and for the truth! Do it now. Let no falsehood pass without correction. Tell your friends to join you in prayer. And then wait for God to act. In the words of Joshua: "Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you." (Joshua 3: 5).
